Managing Partner of Sixkiller Consulting
Mariah Sixkiller is Managing Partner of Sixkiller Consulting, where she formulates public policy strategies for high profile private and non-profit clients in the defense, energy, technology and transportation sectors. From 2006 to 2014, Mariah was National Security Advisor to Congressman Steny Hoyer (D-MD), when he was both Majority Leader and Democratic Whip. In that role, Mariah advised her boss and other Members of Congress and helped manage Committee activity related to foreign policy, defense, homeland security, trade and intelligence issues.
Prior to that role, Mariah worked as Senator Paul Sarbanes’ (D-MD) foreign policy advisor, providing support on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and in his personal office; and also worked as Senator Maria Cantwell’s (D-WA) Director of Research. Earlier in her career, Mariah held a political appointment at the Clinton White House’s Office of Management and Budget, and she worked as a government affairs analyst in both the non-profit and private sectors. She is on the Board of the Women in Military Service for America Memorial and the Council for a Livable World. Mariah was born in Boston, MA; graduated with honors from Brown University; and now splits her time between Seattle and Washington, DC.
